Seawater battery project achieves milestone experimental results

High efficiency, low cost, seawater batteries can drive drone propellers

Our research project with UNSW on seawater batteries has produced the first results of an extremely lightweight seawater battery that can rotate a drone propeller, proving the 'high efficiency' of seawater batteries in practical applications.

In addition to its high efficiency, the seawater battery we are working on has several advantages.

High safety: compared to traditional lithium batteries, seawater batteries are relatively less likely to burn and explode due to their safer raw materials, which is expected to solve the safety problems in the use of traditional batteries

Low cost: The raw materials used to make seawater batteries are all accessible, so they are cheaper to make. At the same time, experiments have shown that in addition to seawater, river water can also be used to generate electricity, and the results of this study are conducive to the widespread use of seawater batteries.
